I'm back!

Well, it has been a hell of a long time since I've written here I know.

To what can I attribute this? I think there are two main culprits...

1. Complete, utter, depression. This winter has been awful. Over the years I have gotten much better at dealing with the winters here. Maybe I've just purchased better winter gear, but I really only suffer when it gets below freezing. Unfortunately, it seemed like that constituted most of the winter. This January was one of the coldest on record (at least since the early 90s)

2. Grad school. I finally started my Master's in Clinical Psychology. I'm taking classes at Roosevelt and loving it so far. The Advanced Research Methods class is tough. I would not have recommended taking it after such a long time away from school. But it is one of my 3 classes needed for my competency requirement so it needed to get done. My Intro to Clinical Psych class is more familiar and easier so I suppose, between the two I have a good balance.

So I have had a major shift in my schedule, and am trying to parlay that into a shift in outlook, lifestyle and eventually career. I just registered for my summer and fall classes and am looking forward to the next couple of years!

What else? Ah yes, Portland last weekend. I visited my cousin, her husband and their new and delicious baby Jack (4 months old). We had a fabulous time. Wine tasting in Willamette Valley, seeing Portland, and in general lots of good lounging family time. Renee and I also got to see Wicked which was outstanding!

Looking forward, we just bought our flights for our anniversary trip back to Italy! We have been in touch with Livia at Torre a Cona and everything is set. I can't wait. I am realizing as I type this that I have never been to Europe with just Jason. We have always had at minimum 10 other people in tow!

We are hoping the trip will be nice and relaxing. Jason bought me a book of Hikes and Walks in Tuscany and Umbria and we hope to do a lot of countryside exploring.

I missed you! Glad you're back!

well, winter is almost over, hang in there. It's hard not to get depressed over the winter. A way out f it is to try and come up with a winter hobby to keep your mind off of it.

I'd love to go to Portland, can't wait to hear about it. And Italy again! Lucky you!

We're sorry about not making Jason's gig - but that was the day of the ill-fated toe bumping and it turns out it's broken. It was so painful that first day that there was no way I could have gone anywhere without dome vicodin!
